How 'Mission Offlameron' Develops the Idea of Developing AI Coactivity
In AI engineering, this approach is called the "Generator-Critic" pattern or the two-phase agent pipeline. Translated into plain English, the process looks like this:
Model #1 (The High-Impact Creative): We artificially inflate its randomness parameters (temperature). It begins to associate warm with soft, making strange associations, and, essentially, hallucinating in a controlled manner. Out of 100 ideas, 95 will be complete nonsense, but 5 will be brilliant insights that a normal, "sober" model would never have thought of, as it was penalized for them during training.
Model #2 (The Strict and Boring Censor): On the contrary, its logic is tightened to the limit. It has no concept of "creativity." Model #1 simply dumps a ton of noise in front of it and gives it a strict checklist (rationality criteria). It coolly sifts through the nonsense, finds those five nuggets of gold, and packages them into a working project.
Why is it important to do this separately? If you ask the same model, in a single dialogue, "Come up with nonsense, and then choose the good stuff from it," it will become confused in its own context. Its internal "self-censorship" will kick in, and it will produce a boring, average result. It is precisely this physical separation into two distinct agents that allows AI to "imitate" creativity.
